突然の夫の失踪を乗り越えようと睦まじく日々を送る母子であったが、ある時カトレアは思った。
もし自分に何かあったら、少々甘えん坊に育ってきた愛する一人息子はどうなってしまうのか。
たとえ冒険者の道を選ばなくても、こんな世の中では様々な危険がつきまとう。
愛する息子の将来を考え、自分が夫に代わり厳しく育てることを決意したのだった。
その日からその手段を求めていた彼女は、遂にその答えを得るのだった。
